COVID-19 Updates and Policies
To Our Referring Physicians and Patients,
We at CONS are taking proactive steps regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak to preserve the health of our patients and our ability to provide neurosurgical care to our community.
We have suspended all elective surgeries until further notice. We are reviewing all of our current cases to identify patients with urgent or time-sensitive surgical needs. Those patients will be contacted and their surgeries will be scheduled as soon as practical, according to their condition and need.
Our main office in Westerville will continue to be open to service urgent patients and phones/faxes staffed. However, we will reschedule those patients who are not in urgent need of being seen until after this crisis has passed. Radiology is fully operational. We will be able to order, perform and read outpatient X-ray/CT/MRI scans in our office as needed. Urgent patients are those with postoperative concerns, new onset of neurologic deficit, brain tumors and any condition that is time-sensitive. One of our surgeons or physician assistants will be available by phone to determine if we need to see any individual patient expeditiously. Please feel free to call any one of our regular numbers, or our answering service after hours. Otherwise, we will continue to accept referrals as usual. We will establish communication with those patients and maintain contact so that they can be scheduled for an appointment as soon as the public health crisis has been abated. Update: Effective March 19, 2020, CONS surgeons will have telemedicine capabilities. All patients with urgent or time-sensitive concerns will continue to be scheduled for in-office clinic visits. Surgeons will be available to all other patients for telephonic consultations during this public health crisis so that everyone can continue to have access to care.
For the time being we have suspended operations at our regional outreach clinical locations and our Grove City offices. All clinic patients will be seen at our main practice location in Westerville at 955 Eastwind Drive. We will be practicing social distancing in our Eastwind office, and we have implemented a number of new policies and procedures for the safety of our patients and staff. Please have only one person accompany each patient and follow our staff instructions provided both prior to and during patient visits. We have also stepped up our already vigorous cleaning processes as appropriate.
We thank you in advance for your forbearance. Once these safety measures can be lifted we pledge to do our best to accommodate every patient inconvenienced as quickly as possible. Whether a patient or a referring physician or office, should you need immediate assistance regarding these changes, please call any of our numbers and ask to speak to our Practice Manager.
